Due to the COVID-19 emergency, all jury trials scheduled for March and April have been postponed at the Kettering Municipal Court until further notice.

Jurors summonsed during that time do not need to report to the court.

UPDATE:  Kettering Municipal Court Operating Plan During Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic:

The following announcement has been updated as of Monday, March 16, 2020 at 6:00 pm and is subject to change based on the latest governmental and Court directives:

The Kettering Municipal Court continues to respond to the ever-changing COVID-19 crisis.  The Court will remain open and functioning as we deal with the impacts of the current COVID-19.  Most court arraignments and hearings will be continued and rescheduled to a date sometime after Friday, May 8 to be determined in the near future, but some court appearances will still be required.  If you are seeking to make payment, they can still be made online at the Court's website or over the phone.  The $3 fee will be waived for payments made over the phone or at the website.

Please read below to determine if you still need to come to court for your appearance:

-All civil hearings, evictions and small claims hearings will be postponed for eight(8) weeks, with new filings scheduled for hearings sometime after May 8, unless specified by the Court.

-All arraignments for felony offenses, violent offenses and OVI's (Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence) will be held as scheduled unless otherwise determined by the court, along with all felony preliminary hearings.

-Individuals who walk in with active warrants will be arraigned if practical to do so.

-All arraignments for incarcerated individuals will be held via video with the Montgomery County Jail. (Lock ups will be transported downtown before arraignment rather that brought to Court from the Kettering jail.)

-All Temporary Protection Order requests will be heard and TPOs served per current procedures.

-All other misdemeanor traffic and criminal arraignments, hearings and trials will be continued to a new date sometime after May 8 to be scheduled in the near future as circumstances dictate.

-No criminal or civil jury trials will be held until after May 8.  Jurors who have already been summoned for jury duty before May 8 do not need to report to the Court.

-All pre-trials will be conducted by telephone or video conference.

-All notices of new court dates will be sent to the addresses the court has on file.  Please be sure to update your address and phone number with the court if it has recently changed.

The Court will be closed to all individuals who do not have essential business with the Court as outlined above pending further order of the Court.

If you are required to appear as specified above and you are sick, are caring for someone who is ill, have had a fever or been around someone with a fever the past 48 hours (without any medication reducing it), please call the Court before you appear at 937-296-2461.
